The Center for Governmental Training & Technology (CGT) represents Mississippi State University's commitment to excellence in state and local government. Since 1973, the Center has provided technical assistance, training, and educational programs and publications to meet the changing needs of Mississippi's local units of government and their elected and appointed officials. Through its programs, publications, and technical assistance, the CGT aids local government officials, local units of government, and associations of local government officials in their efforts to improve governance at the grassroots and delivery of services to the citizens of Mississippi. The CGT does not take an advocacy role in the business, legislative, or political affairs of the local governments or local government associations with which it works.
